He made a number of sketches and drawings and also took photographs of the atrocities committed against the mainly Jewish inmates. These were used as reference for the paintings he completed on his return to Australia.                                                              WW1 Influence on Art           The art made during the war were very intense as many showed the destruction and death war caused. As well as there view of war thru their eyes the horrors that came with it. This also showed lot's of people who may not have been in the war a snippet of what it is like.
